Kia Motors (UK) Limited is proud to be supporting the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) at the 2016 Inter Services Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in France. Kia are putting Sports Producer Jon Knighton into a Kia Sorento KX-3 for the 12 hour journey to Meribel and to move their equipment around the Alps for the five-day competition.
Knighton said “Kia have been incredibly supportive to us over the past five years. In that time we have taken Sportage and Sorento 4x4s to Meribel and each time they have more than proved their worth in very challenging conditions.
“And it’s not only for Winter Sports coverage that Kia have supplied the Forces Broadcaster with a vehicle. Last Autumn Kia supplied us with another Sorento to cover all the venues involved in the IRDC Rugby Competition. We are glad to continue this long-standing partnership.”
The Inter Services Snow Sports Championships takes place over the first week in February 1-6 at Meribel in the French Alps. More than 200 servicemen and women, including injured and disabled competitors will be competing across the week in Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Telemark Skiing. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the championships and also the 10th anniversary of Meribel being the venue.
Based in Buckinghamshire, BFBS has broadcast to the British Military for almost seventy years, giving servicemen and women around the world the news and sport as if they were at home. BFBS Radio is available on DAB Digital Radio in the UK, on FM across the Forces world, on Sky Guide 0211, Freesat Channel 786, www.bfbs.com and via the BFBS smartphone App.
