The inflatable has been set up outside Ken Jervis in Hanley
At more than 30ft tall this car dealership may well lay claim to Stoke-on-Trent’s biggest Santa Claus.
The £4,000 giant inflatable outside Ken Jervis in Hanley has been attracting plenty of attention since it turned up ready for the festive season.
And he has his own custom-made sleigh inside the showroom, while his reindeer are on the roof.
Staff at the Cobridge Road business say it took a number of hours to get all the decorations up.
It took a five-strong team to put up Santa – who has to be deflated and packed away each night before he’s back up the next day.
Sales manager Sean Cosgrove said: “This is the third time we have done it and we just thought it would be something to put Ken Jervis on the map.
“We even have people ringing up asking if Santa is going to be back again. It does attract a lot of attention and you will see people pulling in to come over and take photos and have selfies with it.
“We had one lady from Thailand who works for Kia in that country and she was taking photographs of herself next to him and saying what a good idea it is.”
Sean says the effort to put up the Santa everyday is worth it for the reaction from customers and families. He added: “We also make sure he is securely tied down – we don’t want him ending up in a garden in Burslem!”
Mike Buckley spends every day looking at the towering Father Christmas from his desk at the front of the showroom.
The sales executive said: “It does block out my light sometimes! But it quickly gets you in the Christmas spirit when you’re looking at him every day!”
