Following an already outstanding start to this year for Kia Motors (UK) Ltd, even more good news was announced at the 2019 AM Awards as the Korean brand was presented with two significant awards for its franchise business operation and best-selling mid-size SUV.
Kia received the emphatic support of AM magazine readers this year, rewarding it with the ultimate dealer accolade of ‘Franchise Partner of the Year’ for the second time. The win was decided with a clear margin, with 40% more votes than its nearest rival. Kia dealers are engaged, supported and valued with a healthy business model, something reinforced just last summer when the brand came top in the NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey.
Commenting on the win, AM editor Tim Rose said: “Congratulations to Kia. Dealers clearly rate it very highly, and are happy with the business opportunities the brand offers, together with its well respected and stable leadership team.”
For the fourth consecutive year, the Kia Sportage won over AM readers to be named ‘Used Car Of the Year’. The popular family SUV was praised for its seven-year warranty, economical engines and excellent driveability. An all-new model was introduced in 2016 and early examples are already beginning to change hands for very affordable prices, making it a great value rival to other class contenders.
Tim Rose, commented: “The Sportage rarely stays on a dealer’s used car forecourt for long. Consumers love the styling and the value of this SUV, and have the security of that market-leading warranty. Congratulations to Kia for the fourth consecutive year – it’s a well-deserved accolade.”
Having received the awards on the night, Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors UK commented: “This is a tremendous acknowledgment of what we and our dealer partners have sought to achieve over recent years. Giving customers a great experience, delivering an all-encompassing new and used product range and working to ensure we have a profitable and sustainable partnership has helped us achieve growth. These awards are gratifying recognition of all the combined hard work”.
2019 marks a number of impressive milestones for Kia Motors UK Ltd., starting the year with another record sales result in 2018, selling its millionth vehicle and winning the overall What Car? Car of the Year award in January alone, the AM Awards recognition further proves the success of the brand.
